Ms. Amy Putnam, Master of Music 1996, The Juilliard School, is
Principal Percussion with Seattle-area orchestras, The Tacoma Symphony
Orchestra and The Bellevue Philharmonic. In addition, she is Affiliate
Artist Faculty and Director of Percussion Studies at the University
of Puget Sound. As a Percussionist and Timpanist, Ms. Putnam has
performed with The Seattle Symphony, The Pacific Northwest Ballet
Orchestra, The Cincinnati Ballet Orchestra, "Candide"
at Broadway's Gershwin Theatre in NYC, The Seattle Chorale Company,
The Echternach Festival Orchestra in Luxembourg, The Cosmopolitan
Symphony Orchestra in NYC, The Aspen Music Festival in Colorado,
and many more. A part of Seattle's freelance scene, she also is active
recording film and TV scores for Disney, Dreamworks, Universal,
A&E, FOX, and NBC.
As a marimba and multi-percussion soloist, Ms. Putnam has performed
with The Tacoma Symphony, The Bellevue Philharmonic, The Tacoma
Concert Band, The Miami University Symphony Orchestra, The University
of Puget Sound Percussion Ensemble, Luxembourg Percussion, and L'Orchestre
des Professeurs du Luxembourg. In 1998 she was a finalist in the
St. Louis Symphony Young Artists Competition and in 1995 was a semi-finalist
in the International Competition for Percussion in Luxembourg.
After founding her own business, A. PUTNAM MALLETS, in 1988, Ms.
Putnam has given demonstrations and master classes at The Juilliard
School, the Manhattan School of Music, The Percussive Arts Society
International Convention, The Luxembourg Conservatory of Music,
The University of Puget Sound, The University of British Columbia,
Northwest Percussion Festival and The New York Day of Percussion.
Amy Putnam also holds a Bachelor of Music in Education and Performance
from Miami University, Ohio, and a Prix Superieur Diploma in Percussion
from Le Conservatoire de Musique de la Ville du Luxembourg.
