Both of these pieces eloquently demonstrate Aukofer's ability to compose "singable" melodies. These pieces are as much as pleasure to listen to as they are to play. Each piece provides both technical and musical challenges and would serve as excellent repertoire for a recital, either as a set or as stand alone works.
Great additions to the vibe rep!

A Good Friday and The Little Things are two pieces written for vibraphone, with Good Friday also needing the high octave of crotales. The notation is clear and the instructions are explicit. Having performed both, I can say that the pieces are extremely enjoyable and legitimate contribuitions to the concert vibraphone repertoire, being both idiomatic for the instrument and very pleasing to listen to. The pieces are often programmed together, hence their sale as a set, but need not necessarily be so. The Little Things is a much smaller piece and is often programmed as a closer or encore, while Good Friday is longer and more substantial.
All in all, extremely gratifying additions to the concert vibe repertoire.
