Gretsch celebrates it's 125th Anniversay in 2008 with three very special, limited edition drumsets. Each drumset is limited to 125 kits produced world wide and features USA produced 6-ply Maple shells, 30 degree bearing edges, Die-Cast Hoops, Silver Sealer shell interiors and special anniversary features such as special round badges, logo bass drum heads and internal shell labels.
The Progressive Jazz drumset is modeled after the classic Gretsch "Birdland" kit from the 1950's. The Birdland kit was used by some of Gretsch's past master drummers.....including Max Roach....and kept as the house kit at the renowned New York City jazz establishment. This kit includes a 14x20 Bass drum, 8x12 mounted tom, 14x14 floor tom, and a 4x14 snare drum....all in the beautiful Cadillac Green Nitrocellulose Lacquer with Gold Hardware.
