The Peterson BB-1 BodyBeat® Metronome offers a whole new approach on typical metronome use. The BodyBeat metronome produces a pulsing vibration allowing musicians to easily internalize the beat. With the BodyBeat, you can finally listen to your playing and not to a clicking beat!
The BodyBeat clips onto the belt line and a small separate "vibe clip" transmits the beat, in the form of a pulse (including subdivisions and accents) directly to the user. Suggested areas to place the Vibe Clip are small of your back, hip area, nape of your neck, shoe top or sleeve of your shirt. Certain medical research has indicated that any pulsing product should not be placed too near a persons heart...such as clipped onto a chest pocket or neckline of a shirt. While this product does not emit an electrical current, it may be best to not clip it onto either of those two areas.
Research has shown that separate neural pathways to the brain exist for tactile impulses and visible/audible information which is why musicians find that tactile pulses are quickly internalized, allowing them to concentrate on reading and listening to the music without the constant distraction of an audio or visual metronome. Feeling the beat, not having to listen to clicks or look at blinking LEDs makes it much easier to focus on the music and playing in correct time.
Tempo can be set between 40 and 216 beats per minute in 1 beat increments. Number of beats can be set to between 0 and 9 beats per bar in one beat increments. There are 8 total subdivisons available to choose from...starting with the simple quarter note and moving up to a 32nd & dotted 16th notes. Simply choose you tempo, your beats per measure and your subdivision and press start......the Pulse will be with you!
The Peterson BodyBeat Metronome slo functions as a "regular" metronome by simply unhooking the vibe clip from the main unit. With the built-in speaker, you can now use this product as a regular metronome in the same way as any standard unit would function.
