This Authentic Musical Washboard includes three metal finger tips for ease of playing and authentic washboard sound (laundry detergent not included) and measures 18" tall by 8.5" wide......with an actual playing surface of 8"x7".

Traditionally used in jazz, cajun, skiffle, jug band, and old time music, the metal washboard in its wooden frame is played primarily by tapping, but also scraping, the washboard with the included thimbles.

Great sound!

Comments: Great sound and you can't beat the price. Great for acoustic guitar/auxiliary percussion duo. Also used it to teach my general music classes about skiffle/jug band music.
