At first I was disappointed with this instrument. The sound was not full at all and it just sounded metallic. However, the metal bar can be rotated, causing the balls to hit on different spots. You can adjust the sound a lot by turning the bar. The sound is now very full and cutting, but initially it was very quiet and metallic. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars now that the sound quality is good is that after each hit the balls move back up and hit the other side, which adds an unwanted sound after each hit. This may be able to be avoided with practice, however. If so, then I'd definitely give this 5 stars. Definitely equal to the more expensive versions of this from other companies. Just experiment.
