This Special Production Concert Snare Drum features an 4-ply African Mahogany shell that produces incredible overall tonality with a slight emphasis on low end tone. The 15x8 shell size and unique synthetic gut snares produce a true "concert march" sonic quality that would make J.P. Sousa proud, while still providing a "here and now" quality that will translate over to a wider range of song selection.
In addition to the 4-ply 15x8 shell wifh full rounded bearing edges, this drum also features 6-ply wood hoops, 8 chrome tube lugs with insulated low profile chrome claw hooks, an SR500 Triad Strainer system with 2 sets of synthetic gut snares and 1 set of heavy coated cable snares, Remo Diplomat batter and Renaissance snare side heads, and limited production quantity label on the inside of the shell.

I got this drum as a gift to myself last month. It looks great and I finally got it to sound good. Its combination of 3 snares coupled with the size gives it a great military sound that I have been looking for in a snare drum. Only problem so far is the snare side bearing edge has an indentation for the snare bed which puts uneven pressure on the bottom head. It popped the Renaissance head that came with it....got another one and it is holding up well. Might do better with a true plastic head on the bottom. I would recommend it as a field/military drum for any ensemble.

MAHOGANY DRUM ROCKS!!!
Awesome drum! I saw it at PASIC and again at TMEA and it sounds incredible. I was thinking about the 12x14 or the 16x16 field drum that pearl has, but this is so much more usable. The sound is like an old ludwig&ludwig we used to have in college
