Corbin-Cage for One-P/CD

2009 PAS COMPOSITION CONTEST WINNER! Cage for One by Dwayne Corbin is a multiple-percussion solo with soundscape in three movements. Includes score with CD (the CD includes the soundscapes required to perform movements I and II, and also a demonstration performance of the entire work). Inspired by John Cage's music for percussion, and including text from Cage's LECTURE ON NOTHING, this work took First Place in the 2009 Percussive Arts Society Composition Contest.

log drum (2 pitches)
2 cowbells (non-Cuban)
2 maracas (high and low pitch)
China cymbal (preferably with rivets)

ankle bells (attached to ankle or hi-hat stand)
5 woodblocks (at a separate station)
stereo sound system [must be stereo] (performer needs headphones for the first movement)
hard timpani mallets (or wood dowels)
4 woodblock mallets of different hardness
