Description
The first performance of William Susman's Waves occurred in 1983 at the San Francisco Museum of Art by the San Francisco Contemporary Chamber Players. The piece is designed for any number of players interacting and improvising with the computer-generated sounds. Because the synthetic sounds are mostly metallic and with long decays, this is a great piece for the percussionist interested in improvising with gongs, tam-tams, cymbals and other metals.
