Description
Weiss 16" china cymbal is often referred to as a Lion Cymbal, because of the distinctive shape, cylindrical bell (traditionally the cymbal's handle) and turned-up edges. Hand-made in Wuhan China this cymbal produces an explosive, trashy, and authentic sound. The china cymbals are capable of a wide range of trashy accents while still being clear enough to find a place in many musical settings.

I had one of these 16-inch Chinas. Maybe I just got a bad one, but the sound didn't blend into any style of music which I tried. The tone quality of the cymbal is just poor. The one I received was very thick and you really had to hit it hard to get a full crash out of it. While I prefer thin chinas, I have tried some medium-weight ones which I also liked. This one was just bad. The edges were also very uneven. One side was almost paper-thin while the other was very thick. I would be very careful where you hit these. Judging by the reviews I think I just got unlucky though.

I own the 12", 14", 16", 18" and 20" Models of these, and they put my Zildjian 18" High China to SHAME!! The sound is perfect, the price is amazing, and they are just wonderful to have! They are stamped "made in wuhan china", so you know they are good!

The cymbal sounds great. The reason I give it 4 stars is because there are many scratches on the edge so it is not smooth. I'm not sure if this will affect the cymbal later on, but it definitely does have the authentic China cymbal sound and it doesn't seem like it's going to crack any time soon.

This cymbal has a real nice trash/splash sound at a price that really does boggle the mind! Excellent quality and very well made. Definitely on par with other China type cymbals from the Wuhan area. I actually bought this as an afterthought when purchasing the Weiss 27" China and I'm glad I did. Whoever picked these cymbals out knows what they're doing!
