Not really tuneful. yet not abstract, not too hard but not very easy - Just Right! Takes a mature ensemble to perform this aggressive work. Winner of the Florida PAS Composition Contest and featured on the University of South Florida compact disc.

Brian Benscoter graduated Cum Lauda with a B.M. in composition from University of South Florida in 1994. He has studied with Paul Reller and Hilton Jones at USF and with David McBride at the Hartt School. The early part of his USF career was spent studying percussion with Robert McCormick. Brian has been the recipient of such awards as the Patrick Keim Award and a Hillsborough County Emerging Artist Grant. Most recently, Benscoter has worked as an engineer / producer and has a gold and platinum album to his credit.
