Alegre Muchacho is a dedication to the late Max Albright. The spirit of the Spanish bull fight is brilliantly portrayed in 3\4 time with the assorted colors of marimba, bells, xylophone and vibes superimposed over a pulsating rhythm supplied by the tambourine and snare drum.

Alan Abel is a graduate of Ohio State University and has played with the Columbus Symphony, the late Glenn Miller and David Rose. He has taught at Columbia University, lectured at the American Museum of Natural History and was profiled by the New Yorker Magazine.
