A.Putnam Vibe Mallets (VBT2) Rattan Med Hard...Set of Four - Product Information

This set of four vibraphone mallets, originally designed for Seattle vibist Ben Thomas, produce a clear, rich tone in any live or studio setting.

They are made on a strong and straight 15.5" rattan handle.

A medium heavy weight core is wrapped with durable wool and nylon yarn to give these mallets a warm sound on vibes, marimba, cymbals and much more.

Medium hard putnam mallets

Comments:

These mallets are worth for all to try, however for me medium hard was still soft. I ended up returning the mallets only because I felt the rattan was thin in regards to the diameter. Mallets were about 100 bucks in change and that kind of money I need to be hundred percent happy. Overall the sound gave a very warm round sound but for chamber music lovers upper register would not cut if you're playing with the pedal up.

Great Mallets, big tone

I love these mallets. They speak really well without being too hard or harsh. A big warm sound, and very clear. Easy to play, too - feel really good on the hands. Nice job!
