Designed with a parachute style wrap, layers of American and German style felt are carefully sewn on a large 1" maple core. This medium soft attack sounds great in Romantic to contemporary repertoire where warm rolls and accompanying passages prevail.
All A.Putnam timpani mallets have high quality tonkin bamboo handles, which are carefully selected for matching diameter and weight. The joints are exactly placed for premium balance, then lightly sanded for smoothness and given a finish to polish and protect. All models come with handle lengths in a range of 14.5 to 15.75 inches. German and American style wool felts are precisely split and hand sewn.
