The Fiberglass version of the Professional Series Timpani by Adams feature a great sound...but at a fraction of the price. By tradition the kettle is formed by pressing a single sheet of red copper. Contrary to other moulding methods, pressing has the great advantage of maintaining the same thickness throughout the kettle which is extremely important for a good sound.
The pedal system of the Professional Series Timpani is perfectly balanced by means of a balanced spring mechanism in the base of the timpani. It is very light and easy to use. No mechanical adjustment is ever required if head tension is tuned to the correct fundamental.
All Professional timpani come standard with a tuning gauge. The cast aluminum gauge is very stable and is fitted with easily adjustable indices which slide perfectly over a chromium-plated strip.
The frame of the Professional timpani (base and struts) is made of aluminum. The struts are mounted onto the base using wider plates. The kettle is suspended by means of a strong and firm contoured and rolled steel ring. This ring ensures stability during transport. If a flat ring were to be used, the timpani will not stay 100% round and the sound will soon deteriorate.
