Good idea, but problems

Comments: I purchased these mallets for my paduak xylo. I play in an orchestra pit where I'm completely surrounded by concrete, so regular rosewood mallets sound too harsh. I liked these because they do have 2 tones and they're lighter than other comparable rubber mallets I have. The problem is THE RUBBER COVERS COME OFF with normal play and are EXTREMELY DIFFICULT to put back on. I actually ripped a hole in one covering trying to put it back on. I've also noticed that there are hard spots where the rubber is uneven. This may have happened from replacing the rubber, but I can't tell which ones I've had to put back. Would I purchase these again? NO, but I may try to superglue the covers on the ones I have before dismissing the idea completely. Why don't they come secured?
