Vic Firth SSJTS Scott Johnson "Vega" Multi-Tenor Sticks were designed through the combined efforts of two staff members of the 11 time DCI World Champion Blue Devils Drum & Bugle Corps, Scott Johnson and Sean Vega.

This SSJTS stick was designed for the tenor player who is looking for the feel of a traditional drumstick with plenty of projection. The feel of the "Vega" Tenor Stick is great, and the weight and unique shape of the nylon bead pull more sound and tone from the drum.

"The feel of hickory versus metal is great," says Scott Johnson. "The quick response of the nylon bead allows you to play contemporary tenor music with much less effort. The size of the bead also allows the player to get a rim shot on a drum that has a fairly low rim to head relationship. They also feel great on a practice pad!"

Unique nylon tip helps pull more sound from the drum.

Great Sticks = Great Sound!

Comments:

These are far and away the best tenor sticks on the market. Period. They produce a great sound on the drums and are extremely well balanced. I highly recommend these sticks for high school, college, and professionals.

Great Sticks

Comments:

My brother used this stick for a long time and found that it was the best. He played quints from his sophomore year until he graduated. It makes a better sound than all of the other sticks did. After his recommendation the entire quint line began using them and the sound was cleaner and better all around. I would highly recommend this stick.

These sticks produce great sound, but alone they make sweeps pretty hard. When taping them I find that an extra layer of tape from the butt end to your fulcrum make sweeps a lot easier.

A very good tenor stick. I love the way it brings the sound out of the drum, but i have found that I go through way more heads with this than other implements. Dispite this i would highly reccomend it.
