Description
The LP Afuche/Cabasa was designed to create rhythmic scraping sounds and patterns. The beads can be manipulated against the textured steel or the instrument can be spun or shaken for varying sounds, the likes of which can be heard in music all over the world. This instrument should be included in every percussionist's arsenal.

I find the cabasa much easier to control than most shakers. The sound is loud and cutting, but not in an unpleasant way so even in lower volume music it will fit very nicely. I have other cabasas too but this is basically always my first choice, unless I need to play very fast for a longer period of time, then the Meinl Small Turbo Cabasa is the one. The LP is quite a bit heavier than the Meinl versions, but the sound is fuller too.
