The G&D Bass Drum Muffler, designed by Gary Chaffee, includes one handle and two three inch pads that effectively dampen bass drums of any size. This product works great on either Combo or Concert Bass Drums and is available in either Black or Chrome finishes.
How it Works
The most important feature of the BD Muffler is its unique, independently adjustable two-pad design that enables the user to control all sources of overtones generated by a vibrating drum head.
You can create new sounds in two ways:
By varying the position of the pads on the head.
By adjusting the amount of tension applied to each pad.
Each time you change the position of one or both of the pads, the TONE of the drum will change, because you will be damping different overtones.
Additionally, the amount of pressure exerted on the pads will affect both the "sound" and the "feel" of the head.
The BD Muffler allows you to alter the sound of the drum quickly and easily. You will be amazed at the number of different sounds you can create using just one drum!
