Perfect sound to accompany my bop kit. The look fits the champagne sparkle as if it was made for my kit. I love this instrument.

Very happy with this bell. It has the sound I was looking for. Bandmates like it too!
Why Pearl, WHY? Why did you discontinue this elegant copper finish style of cowbell in favor of the boring black model. Not only is this the sonically best, straight-out-of-the-box, cowbell on the market, it is the best looking cowbell. I have both the HH1 and HH2, and prefer the HH2 a little better more in it's pitch. But these two paired together make a perfect pitch step for a ton of solo ideas. Although I am not a Latin style drummer, I find these incorporate into certain jazz/fusion or jazz/rock styles of playing; like a Dave Weckl or Lenny White (RTF) sort of song. The cowbell has a dry timber, and the ring is not intolerably loud or in any way unpleasant, which I find is true of a lot of other makes of cowbell no matter the size or price. I do use a small (1" X 1.5") refrigerator magnet sheet on the bottom about 1/4" from the mouth, just to reduce some of the volume. These are the best cowbells ever, and Pearl should seriously consider reintroducing them back into production! I wish Steve Weiss had the HH4, I would LOVE to own that one.
To me, this is Plato's form of the sound of a cowbell. If you can have only one cowbell, this is the one you want.
Amazingly pitched, this cowbell is virtually breathing with true latino style! I bought it yesterday as an additional one to my Kenny Aronoff signature cowbell (though they're complitely different), and fell in love with it immediately. Both the look & the pitch will hook you!
