Yamaha Drums feature the best specs in the market today!!
The 8-ply birch shell on the 6" tom maintains shell integrity without a reinforcement ring and projects well. 8" through 14" Shells feature steel reinforcement rings are located below the bearing edge of these all birch shells. This allows for the drumhead to contact a wood bearing edge, maximizing the tone while providing shell integrity under high tension tuning.
Air-Seal System Shells: All Yamaha marching toms are made using the Air-Seal System which ensures that shells start round and stay round; an in-round shell tunes clearer and provides a pure fundamental tone.
Additional Features: Steel 2.3 mm. rims ensure true tuning and shape retention, even under extreme tension and heavy rim shots Zinc alloy lug casings with reinforced walls and webbing provide superior strength for high tensions. The Maximum Tonal Projection cut (MTP), is designed to project a cutting, focused tone. Nylon and steel washers allow smooth tuning at high tensions.

The Tenor Sets listed below do NOT include a backbar or spacers. These must be ordered separately and can include either the Field-Corps Aluminum Tubular or Tubular Vest with Polycarbonate Belly Plate versions from the Yamaha lineup of Carriers. A combination of RM-100 and RM-200 tom spacers (depending on which Tenor configuration you purchase) will also be needed. For the larger 6/10/12/13/14 set, you would need (3) RM-100 and an FCAT-6 to mount the 6" drum. For the smaller set 6/8/10/12/13 set, you would need (2) RM-100, (1) RM-200 and an FCAT-6. If you have any questions on the correct combination of carrier/spacers for your Tenor Set, please email or call us for help.
