Great case!

Comments:

Great case! After using it on three gigs, I am (mostly) loving it. The way the cymbals fit into the case is excellent; they are well protected. The hardware on the outer strap and the wing nut inside are sturdy and easy to use. The little velcro-closure pouch inside is good for drumkeys or extra cymbal tilter parts. I will put another short plastic sleeve on the threaded rod inside the case (where you secure the cymbals in), because not enough of the thread is covered for my purpose. I was tempted at one point to become impatient with having to lay the case flat and work with hardware and insert pads rather than just drop the platters into slots in a soft bag, but when the case fell off my equipment cart and rolled down a loading ramp, I was glad it was a sturdy hard case like this one, with the cymbals anchored in. Of course, part of why it fell is because the plastic is so slippery. I like to lay it flat on top of my bass drum, with two small hardware bags on top and the snare and tom cases stacked next to the bass drum, all on my Rock-n-Roller cart. A 4-piece kit can go all in one trip that way. But the SKB case wants to slide off the stack more easily than the last hard case I had, which was fiber. If I had a matching SKB bass drum case, this would probably be less of a problem, because the x shape molded into the lid and bottom would help anchor it. But my Enduro BD case is still good, so I'm just gonna try bungee cords - they work well to secure the stack of toms on the cart.
