A. Putnam Michael Crusoe Signature Series Timpani Mallet - Classic Period Legato - Product Information

The TMC2 Michael Crusoe, Artist Signature Series Classic Period Legato timpani model features a 1.25″ maple core, with an American-style wool felt. Covering the core is a brown wool, steam-pressed felt, sewn tightly and with a seam. It has a smooth, balanced sound with moderate articulation. This medium general legato mallet is best suited for Classic and early Romantic period repertoire including Mozart, Haydn, Beethoven, Mendelssohn and Schubert symphonies and concerti. With a length ranging from 14.75-15.25 inches, this mallet is smaller in scale to comfortably accommodate this essential period of repertoire.

Bamboo handles are carefully matched for diameters of 1/2″ to 17/32″, as well as a medium weight of 35-45g. Joints are finely sanded for smoothness and carefully placed for premium balance. A wood finish is applied to ensure constant humidity and keep environmental changes from affecting the handle's stability and strength.

Designed and hand-crafted in the USA.
