A. Putnam T3 Timpani Mallets are a medium hard, general timpani mallet with a cartwheel style wrap. A medium layer of durable and denser German style felt is precisely sewn around a 1″ maple core. This model is well suited for a range of repertoire from the 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries. With it’s easy clear tone, the T3 is great for orchestral, chamber, and wind ensemble settings.
All A. Putnam timpani mallets have high quality tonkin bamboo handles, which are carefully selected for matching diameter and weight. The joints are exactly placed for premium balance, then lightly sanded for smoothness and given a finish to polish and protect. All models come with handle lengths in a range of 14.5 to 15.75 inches. German and American style wool felts are precisely split and hand sewn.
