This cymbal is a very particular one, quite different, for example, from the 22" Dream Energy Crash Ride. The Vintage Bliss is light and thin, with almost no ping, but perfectly calibrated wash, clear stick definition, and plenty of volume. It is more of a ride than a crash, with a darker sound character, lower pitch, and a crisp bright bell. The sound character adapts to different applications, so it is one of the cymbals that works very well in many diverse recording contexts. I've been surprised by every Dream cymbal I've acquired, and this one is no exception. It is a gorgeous instrument, and one would expect to pay at least three times the price for the inherent quality on offer. Over the years I've acquired and later sold Zildjian, Paiste, Bosphorus, Istanbul & Sabian rides, but this one is a keeper. And the price point is most pleasantly confounding. It is a unique cymbal, unlike a specialized heavy bright ping rock ride, so if broad application suits your purposes, this is certainly the cymbal for you.
