Description

The Gon Bops Mixto 2-in-1 Cajon reflects 2 great cajon traditions — that of Spanish flamenco and also that of the Peruvian folk tradition. Having the sound port on the side allows both the front and the back (or the front and the other front) to be used as playing surfaces.

The flamenco side has snare wires while the traditional side does not. The snare side is designed to maximize snare buzz when playing slap tones and minimize buzz when playing bass tones. The traditional side has a partially sealed playing surface for maximum bass and adjustment screws on the top for varying the slap sound. The frame is made of Peruvian mohena wood and is constructed with dovetail joints for added strength. Includes a FREE carrying bag.

Makes me sound good! Perfect bass on both sides and great snare response on the flamenco side. If you're wondering if having the traditional side is worth it, it really is. Gives a great sound that fits better with some styles/moods. Wish I'd bought it sooner.

Fantastic sounding cajon, beautiful appearance. I have played many cajons and have found some with great lower end and resonance, and some with great "snap", but rarely have I played a cajon that had both great sounds. The Gon Bops Mixto Cajon is one of those cajons that has both fantastic sounds and is in fact one of the best sounding cajons I have played. Miked up it is a beast, absolutely impressive and fun to play. Of course with the two sided playing styles it is a lot more versatile than most other cajons. I would highly recommend this cajon, and can say that it is worth every penny I payed for it.

I love this instrument! The whole thing is made of the same type of wood, not like most cajons which have front plates made of one type of wood and the body made of another type of wood. Also, it has a great sound with wonderful slap tones and bass tones. What I think is this cajon's greatest feature is the ability to use both sides of the cajon as playing surfaces (one side is a string cajon and the other side is a "natural" cajon). If you're in the market for a good cajon, then this is the one for you!
