The Gretsch Catalina Maple Series starts with 7 ply 7.2mm Maple Shell. Take these shells and combine them with classic Gretsch Hardware and 30 degree bearing edges and the sound delivered is warm and projecting with lots of tight low end. All Drum shells go through a multi-step lacquer process that produces a glassy smooth, hard and durable finish.
