Grover Replacement Snares - Product Information

All Grover snare wire is constructed to meet and exceed the demanding requirements of today's drummer-percussionist. Each strand is individually tensioned prior to being secured into a brass end piece. These responsive snares require fewer strands than conventional spiral snares which reduces damping of the bottom head and results in greatly improved snare sensitivity. Available in cable (super dry) and wire models.

Grover SX snare wires are the perfect choice for turning your drum set snare drum into a very convincing concert snare drum. Improve the sensitivity of your drum. The SX14 and SX13 Snare wires are a combination of silver wire and bronze cable. When buying a concert snare isn't really an option these Grover Snare Wires will do the trick.

Grover Silver/Bronze Replacement Snares

Comments: I have tried all the major brands of replacement snares and I find the Grover Silver/Bronze snares to be one of the best. They are dry and articulate, yet quite "alive", unlike others that are dry, but spiritless. I find curled-wire "snappy" snares to have an annoying after-buzz, no matter how tight they are adjusted. Coiled wire snares like the Grover do not have this characteristic. Buzzy "snappy" snares do allow drummers to sound more "busy", however--a very clever acoustic feint of hand.
