Description

The FS-BK signature model marching snare drumstick is designed to the exacting specification of Bret Kuhn, Percussion Arranger of the world champion Cavalier Drum and Bugle Corps. Bret’s stick is constructed of white hickory, and features a long taper and elongated bead for increased rebound and a dark tone quality. The elongated bead results in added tip weight, creating increased response at lower dynamic levels. The FS-BK is slightly thicker than the FS-1 marching stick, for better control and durability.

Features:

  • White Hickory
  • Elongated Oval Bead
  • Long Taper
  • Length: 17″
  • Thickness: .712″

The stick is fantastic. The sticks has some "beef" behind it, especially in the middle of the stick for a great control and feel. Because of the stick's weight, the stick produces great sound quality at low dynamics. The stick also has a great oval tip that gives a nice rebound and sound. On top of that, Steve Weiss has fantastic customer service. I order a bunch of products on a Friday Night and recieved them Monday Morning. What great serivce. Thank you Steve Weiss!

First off, these sticks are durable above all. My current Bret Kuhns are split, but still refuse to break, and with stick tape on them, they still work great! Second, they have a very versatile tip. With the relatively round tip, you get a darker sound, but it's still oval, so you can also a achieve a very articulate sound in the right areas of the drum. Lastly, I ONLY buy these from Steve Weiss, because you just CANNOT beat $3.95 for a solid stick!

I think these are the best marching snare sticks ever made, in my opinion. I have loved them ever since we used them when I was in high school and college. As far as the quality and shipping from Steve Weiss, they were perfect. The drumsticks arrived before the expected date which really surprised me. I will definitely buy from this website/company again when I buy sticks. Thanks for the deal and great shipping!

My high school has used Vic Firth Ralph Hardimon sticks for years. This year we switched to the Brett Kuhn model. One pair of the Ralph Hardimon didn't last through half of band camp. The Brett Kuhn sticks made it through a full two-week band camp and a parade.

The FSBK is very well-balanced when taped well and evenly. The barrel tip facilitates a large contact area therefore more headroom in the relationship of volume and energy.
