Grandson loved the mallets and said they would be very well used in college this year. He is Pre-Med student with a Minor in Music.
Description
This line of professional keyboard mallets by Innovative Percussion has been specifically designed for Belgium marimba artist Ludwig Albert III. The eight models, previously only offered on rattan handles, are now available on natural birch handles with specially weighted rubber cores of varying sizes and degrees of hardness.

Good Generic Marimba Mallets

The Albert series is fantastic as long as you use them for their intended purposes. They're heavier than what is typical, but not ridiculously heavy. The yarn provides plenty of cushion to cover the attack. Overall, these might be the best mallet choice if you are looking for the most characteristic / generic marimba sound you can get. The hardness are very close together, so a few of the mallets in the series are probably unnecessary for every day uses.

I've used these mallets for over a year now and they are great for concert and Solo And Ensemble. However, I wouldn't recommend using these for Marching Band and/or Indoor because I feel like they're not meant for those programs. I would also be very careful with these mallets because they will snap, especially if you use these for cymbals and splash cymbals.
