Great sound but a little heavy

Comments:

This drum has a terrific sound. I like the fact that it has a natural goatskin head, tunes easily, and has a handy carrying case. What I don't like is the weight of the unit. It is a little heavy for me to get the samba beat going easily, especially up-tempo, for a long time. If the drum were a little lighter, or perhaps weighted differently, it would be easier to play the characteristic rhythms of the instrument. Note: though I am in my 60s, I am a lifelong drummer, a multi-instrumentalist, and physically fit. So my problem with the weight is more about the unwieldiness of the unit than any weakness on my part per se. I will keep trying and maybe it will take the place of my daily weight-lifting...
