This is a great design. You only get the downbeat without all the movement of the beads any time you move your hand in a different direction. While it's designed to be played at the same time as another instrument by putting it on your finger, it can be played by itself just fine too. Great for more detailed rhythms!

extremely cool ! I don't know how they're done but anyway you shake it you get the down beat and not the upbeat, thus playing quarter notes or eighth notes but not 16th notes, which is rare for a shaker. a must try !
