The LP Udu Drum Utar version has Lowest pitch of all the LP Udus. The bell chamber creates bright, wet sounds. One of the unique textures of the Utar is that the shell can create "cowbell" type sounds.
The LP Udu Drum has a clay construction based upon centuries-old traditions. Sometimes referred to as an Ibo Drum the name is derived from the Nigerian language meaning pottery. This drum is played by hitting any part of the drum with the hands and fingertips. A large variety of tones and pitches contribute to the complex percussive patterns Udu Drums are known for.
