I just bought several concert snare drums including the Majestic ProPhonic 14 x 6.5 Thick Maple which is almost twice the price. I bought another brand, also with only one set of wires which was way more expensive. I am super thrilled with this drum. Almost no overtones from the start and I have $900 purchases I cant say that about. Easily the best value out there. I am not sure why it is priced so low but this drum is a great choice for someone who wants quality at an entry level price. Also Steve Weiss has the best service and is not going to drop ship your drum 2 months down the road. Buy It Get It Be Thrilled with it. That should be their motto.

This is the best concert snare in the price range, hands down. Very well made, sounds almost as good as the $600+ range drums. For a student getting serious but not wanting to go all the way to the top-end gear yet, this is perfect.
