Great item for the $, but lack of amplification

This is a great entry level kalimba. I really love how easy it is to play and the raised notes. I used this to put my niece to sleep and it worked; I guess 3rds, 4ths and 5ths are conducive to sleep. I had bought this on a whim at a large local box store. It was crazily marked up to $50 and knowing it had been there for a while next to the Hugh Tracy expensive model, I could get 10-15% off, which I was able to do, making it a $5 difference if I had bought it here with shipping. But I'm returning it today after 2 weeks and grabbing one from here. It's really hard to hear it, even with a condenser mic. The audience hears it and my recorder picks it up but t's just not enough to feel confident. I do wish the wah-wah model had the same raised keys.
