Great choice for Orchestral/Wind Symphony Vibes

Comments:

These mallets sound HARD when you're playing with them. That being said, so many times are vibes put all the way in the back and expected to cut over a whole orchestra or band. They work great for that. They have a very clear tone and sound great. DONT use these on marimba, they are much too hard for that.

Nice, Reliable, Loud

Comments:

To be clear, these are for vibes and when you need a sound that can cut through a large ensemble, but for that purpose I think they're great.

Hard and heavy

Comments:

Very hard, makes for a great attack and a sharp "ping" sound on the vibraphone. Heavy, so one can get good volume evenly. Not sure whether they would be suitable for fast passages, small combos, or jazz vibe playing. But they're good for cutting through a large ensemble in orchestral percussion playing, in particular if the vibes need to have a bell-like sound quality, for example to blend with glockenspiel or chimes.

The

Comments:

These mallets are perfect for when you want the absolute loudest and hardest sound out of your vibraphone, but I would personally never use them on Marimba. They are great for when a loud whole note is called for on vibes. A piece that I used this in was the upcoming Bryan Balmages piece "Grace" that I played for the CT-All State Festival. My friends and I refer to it as the "Rock" mallet because it really does sound like you wrapped a piece of rock with yellow cord. Definitely a special circumstance mallet in my honest opinion.
