First, I love the sound of these mallets - warm, with enough attack when needed - just gorgeous. My problem is that the rattan handles are only 12.75" long, where all my other mallets (MarimbaOne, Encore) are 15" long. Balter does make "extra long" mallets for several of its mallet types, as customers ask for them, so it can't just be me that doesn't like the short stubby feel. My main concern here is that the short sizing of the handles is not listed on the website description, and I may not have bought them if I had known. So - if you are happy with the shorter handles, then these mallet are great and I highly recommend. If not, go for the XL sizing.

Versatile mallets and super high quality

These mallets have a nice warm round sound, and of course they are the highest quality (Mike Balter is the best quality imho) The hardness of these mallets is somewhere in between the Balter Greens and Balter Blues.

Not bad! But a bit hard

Pretty good mallets! They have a nice slap and really project well. My only complaints would be the harsh sound in the lower register and the shortness of the shaft. Get a lighter, darker sound is difficult. Pretty good overall. But if you want a slappy, but warm, attack free sound I suggest Gary Burton's or Victor Mednoza's

Great Mallets

Great sound mallets. These are very well balanced and very light in the hands. Not too harsh of a sound on the he bars which is nice but they do have a good attack and don't sound too muddy.
