Great stand, but beware the new rubber fumes!

Comments:

I was looking for an all-in-one SD stand that would accomodate concert-height playing yet still collapse low enough for seated playing (e.g., drumset) or practice as well. I'm surprised more companies haven't tackled this need. Fortunately, the OffWorld Percussion IMS2 fits the bill perfectly, just as advertised. It's solidly built and the ball-tilt and height adjustment points are great. The black finish might also appeal to those tired of their hardware always having the same chrome look. Overall, a great stand at this price. My only complaint (and the sole reason for a "4" rating rather than a 5) is that when I first took this stand out of the box and assembled it, the noxious new-rubber smell from the tripod feet and drum grips was so powerful as to be intolerable -- and that was in a decent-sized room. (If it had been a tiny practice room, the fumes might've made me puke.) I guess the manufacturer isn't giving the smell time to wear off before putting the stand straight into the box for shipping. Fortunately, airing out the stand outdoors on a couple good-weather days was enough to get rid of the smell. So, caveat emptor about the smell, but if you have the patience to let it wear off outside for a day or two, you'll have a very versatile SD stand.
