Pearl CX Air Frame Tenor Carrier - Product Information

The Pearl CX AirFrame series of carriers....this version is the CXT-1 Tenor Carrier...feature a solid rod, form-fitting upper shoulder frame attached to a thin aluminum belly plate with extreme range of motion. The ACS (Agility Control System) Belt unites the player to their instrument for optimal stability in today's modern use of body movement. The shoulder and belly pads are removable for cleaning and are built with a "stealth-like" design.....the carriers practically disappear under the uniform.

The new CXBB-1 Tenor backbar (included with this carrier) provides absolute level positioning of all of the toms and features lightweight aluminum construction for durability while not breaking your back while playing. For the first time from Pearl, the player will have the option to have a 6" AND 8" size gock drums in their sextet configuration.

Elegantly Simple. Incredible Simple. These words best describe the new CX AirFrame and MX T-Frame carriers by Pearl Corporation. These carriers combine lightweight, simplistic desgins with rugged durability. Field tested by the Santa Clara Vanguard and Blue Knights Drum Corps, this revolutionary breakthough in carrier design is highly adjustable with minimal moving parts, making this the perfect carrier for players of all sizes and skill levels.

Comfortable but not made for female bodies

Comments:

My school's Drumline is the best in our state with our Pearl drums. I play tenors and it's incredibly fun. I'm only 5'1 so the tenors are a bit heavy for me but the harness is really comfortable and helps with the weight of the tenors. The back strap helps take the weight off and the padding on the shoulder bar and abdomen makes it very comfortable but the only downside to the harness is the bars connecting the shoulder bar and the abdomen plate. The bars aren't curved outward very much or aren't curved out at all, and I'm fairly large chested so wearing the harness I look kind of ridiculous. It looks weird and it's also fairly uncomfortable. It's very easy to tell the harness was made with male body types in mind. If you're larger chested, you're probably going to look weird and feel uncomfortable in the chest region. Other than that, it's a great harness.

Still can't use it.

Comments:

This carriers is seriously strong but there are some downers. The electroplate coloring scratches really easily. The thing is straight as an arrow and will be really tough to bend around any sort of chest muscle. I fear it to be uncomfortable but have yet to be able to find out. I was under the impression that I could change my old tenor bar and 8/10 mounts with a single purchase but that is not the case. Wrong. While it did come with the bar, it included no other brackets for the 8, 10, or the 6's. (Didn't expect mounts for the 6's.) I don't even see the Pearl 8/10 brackets on their site. so, I have not been able to use the carrier yet. Hopefully it bows in the middle to get around the pectoral muscles. We'll see.

So comfortable but Too big for me :'(

Comments:

I got this harness for band and it definitely doesn't fit players of all sizes I'm four foot eleven yes I'm that short lol and I play the quints in my drumline i had the harness that had been used by my own drum teachers generation.. Of course I wanted an airframe as all the seniors of high school had them but I finally got one and it was too big now I have to use my old harness that I can barely walk with that almost broke a girls back its not fair because I loved this harness and it wasn't for my size :(
