Remo Skyntone Drum Head - Product Information

Remo Skyntone drum heads are designed for use on snare drums for both concert and drum set applications.

With minimal stick attack and controlled high frequencies the Remo Skyntone snare drumhead has a warm gut-snare sound even when paired with standard wire snares. In a concert setting the slightly subdued articulation makes it perfect for live concert halls where metal snare drums generally sound too sharp and tinny. For drum set, at higher tuning ranges the Skyntone provides a warm controlled sound with an excellent surface for brushes.

Classic Calfskin Sound

Comments: Remo's new Skytone batter heads provide an easy and inexpensive way to achieve that classic calfskin sound. The naturally textured faux surface works great with sticks or brushes. Tuned tight for straight ahead jazz, these heads offer a warm and balanced tone on both my snare and toms. Excellent heads, highly recommended!

Finally!

Comments: The search is over! I love this drum head. I've tried many, but this is the one, the tone, warm, but still projects, and I love the contol of the sound. This is not just for "jazzers", I play in a pop band, and it's perfect. I just wish they made it for tom-toms.

REMO Skytone Drum Head

Comments: I have just recently mounted this head. So far I like it very much, mounting much like a typical REMO head (the cracking & crunching of the adhesive). It seated nicely and required less final tuning then most. The sound is dry and much darker than the Renaissance head that it replaced. To those of us who are old enough to remember the sound of real skin, this is the closest that REMO has come. Using it on a 6.5" woodshell drum w/cable snares gives it the best concert sound that I have found. Time will tell, however, whether it separates like the older fyberskyn, or develops cuts easily from my experience with the Renaissance head. I would recommend this head for drummers looking for that dark, warm sound.

These heads are awesome

Comments: These are great heads. They made my cheap metal snare drum sound good enough to play with an orchestra. My only complaint is that they do not come in a 15" size.
