better than nothing?

Comments: These things are awkward on the drum, and they sound pretty cheap when you hit them. I can't actually use them on a marching drum, but they do come in handy if I want to hit the rims on a stationary concert bass drum. Still though, there are better versions of this idea, such as the Yamaha Hoop Protector. That product also has some problems but it's better than these.
