Great for louder dynamics

Comments:

The Salver Mark Sherman mallet is an excellent mallet in terms of size, weight and mallet head size for 2 mallet playing. The problem that I have with the mallet is that is uneven in terms of the attack on the bars in going from soft to loud dynamics. If you roll on a bar from pianissimo to fortissimo you will see what I mean. At a certain point it sounds like you are changing mallets. It goes from a very soft smooth sound to a hard sound very quickly instead of a nice gradual crescendo. Obviously the attack will change with any mallet but this is extreme. So, if you play with a lot of dynamics this may be an issue. This would be a great mallet in a setting where you are playing a mf to ff range constantly. I have been searching for the perfect answer to the Milt Jackson Albright mallets and have yet to find anything comparable.

Very disappointing

Comments:

When hunting for new large-head/short-handled mallets, I came across these. Despite supposedly being medium hard, they produce a very weak tone on the vibes. They feel and sound like marimba mallets, rather than vibes mallets. I was very disappointed -- I really wanted to support a new company -- and would return these if I could. I much prefer the Balter 31 & 32 mallets, and Albrights.

Fantastic Product!!!!!

Comments:

I bought these at PASIC 2013 and I love them! They sound fantastic and warm. They are great for any jazz vibraphonist for that warm jazzy sound. A lot of my classical friends love them as well so they can be used for any Vibe playing. I also take lessons from Mark Sherman and bought them because I was taking lessons from him but honestly ended up falling in love with them. It is my go to mallet!
