I have to admit that I have been trying a lot of sticks! I purchased these based on a review for another Vic Firth style stick and the reviewer mentioned they were using these. These are really great sticks and definitely worth a try. The maple gives them a very good feel and if you need a heavier version of these you can try the HD9. Same stick but in hickory. I have been using these for all types of music and have to admit they are excellent sticks and even though they are listed as a jazz favorite, I don't think you need to limit yourself to just jazz to user them. As always Steve Weiss is the best in selection and service! Thank you.
