The Vic Firth American Custom T5 Wood Timpani Mallets are a very hard special effects mallet. Turned from a single piece of rock maple, which eliminates a core that could rattle and the need for a screw-on washer to secure the head. Length: 14 1/2 inches, Head: 1 1/4 inches.

I was looking for some drumsticks for a multi-percussion set that would sound good on glass, wood, and drumheads. These are perfect. Even though they're designed for timpani, they're perfect for what I was playing. My only hope is that they're durable and don't wear out before my graduation concert.

They are Vic Firth products. They last forever. I have two pair of mushroom rattan mallets that have served me for forty years.
