I used to be a Pro-Mark guy. Nothing wrong with them, but I've discovered Vic Firths seem to have a great "satiny" finish, for lack of a better word. Not too lacquered, not too woody. A very natural feel. These are like the 8Ds that I like, but with a smaller round tip (instead of the acorn). I did think the tip would be a bit larger, but I like them anyway. Great sticks. Great price.
