Steve Smith Sticks - Buy Them!

These are great sticks. I waited quite a while for them to be back in stock, but well worth the wait! I have been purchasing so many models of drumsticks from Steve Weiss and these are one of the best. A 5A shaft with a beefier neck and a great oval tip. I love them. They sound great on the drumheads and the cymbals. They work well whether you play with the traditional grip (Steve Smith style) or the matched grip. Just an overall well-balanced stick that works in any genre of music. Thank you Steve Weiss for having these back in stock.

I endorse Vic Firth as part of their education team, and the product is almost always excellent across all models. In this case I received a couple pairs of sticks that had less than good wood quality. This happens from time to time. Usually I prefer to buy at a shop where I can test the sound and see the quality of the wood. Buying online doesn't allow that, so I got two pairs that don't sound good.

A very well balanced stick! A little thinner then a 5A, but it's beefy like a 5B! I use this stick for everything I play, all the way from my progressive rock group to my frequently playing jazz combo. It has the ability to aid you in being very powerful, but at the same time very quick and sensitive. 5 stars from me anyday!
