The way that the wires are turned up at the end make it the perfect brush for playing on calf skin heads. They also have a bigger sound that other brushes.

ok, nice, but worth the price ? I'm not sure they are any better than other brushes.

I have been looking for the perfect brush: affordable, long-lasting, and a great range of sounds (staccato, swishes, on cymbal, on drumhead, pianissimo, forte)... many sounds. This stick did all these for three months, but as time went on, the angled ends began to fray out in a scattered pattern and not a Chinese fan shape. This killed snap-ability and light touches on a drum or cymbal because a 1/4th of the brush was fraying toward the surface causing many preemptive touches. Also, the angles are straightening out quite a bit, nullifying the special design of this brush. Now it looks, fells, and sounds, like it has been an abused brush. In general, I am disappointed in the durability. Though this is great for a while, the design needs to be revisited.
