Vic Firth American Custom Timpani Mallets are turned from a single piece of rock maple, which eliminates a core that could rattle and the need for a screw-on washer to secure the head.

I own 38 pairs of timpani mallets, lots of brands. The VF Cartwheels are fantastic for rolls below a forte, and have a great pesante stroke sound on the lower 3 drums. I use them all the time.

I have the whole series T1 to T6. Just great beaters. The handles fit well in the hand, and are not too long.
