The Steve Weiss Hand Selected “MA” gong provides a slightly more focused bell like character with less “splash” and “bend” when compared to the Opera and Tiger Gongs. It is not as resonant as a “Se” or “Che Sui.” The hammered texture allows for some shimmer as well.

The 8 inch Ma gong has a beautiful bell like tone. It is extremely strong and clear with over 12 seconds of resonant duration. The gongs note eventually becomes a tunnel-like oscillation with a unique and subtle series of overtones which gradually decay into the base fundamental tone of the gong itself.
