I used this book when i was in 6th grade and it worked very well in teaching me basic fundamentals in a layout that i found suitable for just about anyone. I suggest doing the exercises and rudiments in the back of the book everyday in order to get a proper foundation and grow well in your basics. This is a great book for anyone that trying to learn percussion from learning how to hold the stick to doing solos that impose quite a challenge for the beginning percussionist. This book is highly recommended.
